Mission

The Muslim Women’s Art Society is an organization dedicated to fostering the arts among Muslim women in North America. Founded by four women in the media arts, the organization’s goal is to empower Muslim girls and women and to educate them on visual arts, theater and film, and literary arts.

We aim to provide a safe online space for Muslim women to promote their art. We also host events in different cities and promote other artists to come together and support one and other.

The goal of MWAS is to foster sisterhood in the arts.

While we all have differing ideologies and paths to spirituality, we all share a love of the arts. This love of the arts is what inspires us to come together and break barriers among ourselves and also, with those who don’t understand our cultures.

Art inspires. Art has the power to shape minds and hearts.
